James Bernard Bertrando, KHS 1939

James Bernard Bertrando, 91, of Toughkenamon, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the Christiana Hospital.

He was the husband of Florence Roskoski Bertrando, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Toughkenamon, he was the son of the late Coccochetti and Tomasina DiFilippo Bertrando.

He was a mushroom grower for 40 years, retiring in 1977. After his retirement, he worked for his son Steve at All About Tires, in Toughkenamon.

He enjoyed horse racing and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James Bertrando and his wife, Debbie, of Bear, Del., and Steven Bertrando of Chadds Ford; one daughter, Lisa Sabatino of Bear, Del.; six grandchildren, Lauren and Alexis Bertrando, Gina and Katrina Compello, and Paul and Steven Sabatino.

He was predeceased by one son, Anthony Bertrando.

You are invited to his visit with his family and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 W. State St., Kennett Square.

His Life Celebration will be held at 6 p.m.

Burial will be private.
